Initially constructed in 1963 as a small local hospital serving the Borivali area in Mumbai, Bhagwati Hospital was expanded to a 50-bed secondary healthcare centre in 1968.  Considering significant responsibility, MCGM (Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai) took an initiative to upgrade this hospital into one of key peripheral hospitals in Mumbai.
